Breaking: Two police brutally assaulted by military personnel at Bolgatanga

Two policemen identified as Lance Corporal Raymond Asiamah and Ebenezer Akoto are said to have been brutally  assaulted at their duty post without any provocation by military personnel in the Upper East Regional capital.

Information available to Kofi-asante.blogspot.com indicates the two personnel visited their colleagues on duty at a visibility post in the Bolga township where a military vehicle passing by stopped and the driver confronted Lance Corporal Asiamah why he was wearing military carmofly shorts.

How after explaining the military man that he bought from open market he instructed the policeman to go and remove as he drove off.

Report say Asiamah went home changed and came back to his colleagues on duty at the royal chief  royal palace, Bolga.

Whilst there, two military vehicle each full with armed military men led by their detachment commander stopped on seeing Asiamah and one of the militarymen identified him and they subjected him to severe beatings with their weapons and he run entered the into the palace for rescue.

Military men followed him up and arrested him after which they escorted him to his house and retrieved the said military short.


The military team proceeded to another visibility post and subjected another police man identified as constable Bowan Njokoni Listiwel to beatings and humiliated him after he told them he did not know the whereabout of Lance Corporal Akoto who was earlier with Asiamah.

The rampaging military men traced Lance Corporal Akoto Ebenezer to a Mybet centre where they attacked and assaulted him without any provocation but was able to escape to the police station close by to break the news.

Report say the military drove out after the Regional SWAT unit arrived at the scene.

Medical report are issued to victims for check up as police Officers including theRwgional Minister begins investigation.
