M.P. for Asokwa, Maxwell
Kofi Jumah, is alleging the biometric voters’ register is bloated, and he
blames the Electoral Commission for the development.
He says his own checks
from E.C’s figures on the recent biometric exercise indicate there five per
cent more registered voters than anticipated.
Though the commission is
expected to release official figures next week, sources close to the EC put the
total number of registered voters at almost 14 million.
Mr. Jumah says by the
figures in the public domain , the voters’ register is bloated more than ever, adding the purpose of the
biometric system is a “total failure”.
The NPP M.P. and former
Deputy Minister for Local Government spoke to Nhyira FM’s Kofi Asante in
Kumasi.
